Introduction

The Bible without doubt is the most fascinating book ever written. The collection of sixty-six books which make up the Bible was written by over forty authors, in three different languages, over a 3,000 year time span, and is the only such compilation of books that complement each other so faithfully. The more we study the written word of God the more we see that one must first have studied the Bible in its entirety before they can say how they stand on a certain issue. The reason being that the message of God to us concerning various issues is scattered in bits and pieces throughout the sixty-six books. One instance is the burial place of Moses. When Moses dies the Bible states that God buried him and no one knew where he was buried (cf. Deut. 34:5-6).  Later we find that Michael is contending with Satan over the body of Moses (cf. Jude :9).  Why? God desired to use Moses' body on the Mt. of Transfiguration (cf. Mt. 17:1-9). If we had not read Jude and Matthew we would not know what really happened to the body of Moses.  Any issue (doctrine) that comes to mind is also written in the same format as this example. It is an integrated message scattered throughout the sixty-six books. This makes it impossible for one to say they make a particular stand on an issue (doctrine) by reading only one verse. The simple solution as to where we stand on any issue is reflected in the verse: "He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (cf. Heb. 11:6). Hanging on to the words of God here, let us now diligently seek God on the issue of the deity of God the Holy Spirit. We shall search through the Old and the New Testament to see what God has to say.

All Scripture will be given from the New King James Version (Scofield).

For the reader's convenience, the numbers next to Hebrew and Greek words are the Strong's Concordance numbering system.
